Terms of Service

Agreement

By creating an account, clicking "I agree", or using Buzmi, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

The Service

Buzmi provides a phone number that connects to your condo or apartment buzzer. When someone buzzes, Buzmi can automatically let them in, ask for a PIN code, or deny access based on your settings.

Buzmi is a convenience tool. It is not a security system and not an emergency service.

Usage

Buzmi includes unlimited buzzes. However, if we determine that usage is abusive or abnormal, we reserve the right to rate limit or suspend your account.

Your Account

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your password secure
• All activity under your account
• Ensuring you have permission to use your building's buzzer/intercom system
• Sharing PIN codes only with people you trust
• Keeping your account information accurate

If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at help@buzmi.app immediately.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Buzmi for any illegal purpose
• Share access with unauthorized individuals
• Attempt to bypass or probe security features
• Interfere with the service or other users
• Overload or abuse the service (unusual call volumes, automation, or attacks)

Auto-Unlock Feature

When you enable auto-unlock, any caller who buzzes your unit will be granted access automatically without verification.

Auto-unlock provides convenience, not security. You acknowledge and accept full responsibility for who gains access to your building, your settings (including misconfiguration), and the PINs you share.

Subscriptions & Billing

Buzmi is a subscription service billed in advance on a recurring basis. Your subscription automatically renews until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method for recurring fees plus applicable taxes.

Cancellation: You can cancel anytime from your dashboard. Cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of your current paid period.

Price changes: We may change pricing with reasonable notice. Changes apply at your next renewal.

Refunds: Provided at our discretion for unused service time or billing errors.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use Buzmi. By using this service, you represent that you are of legal age to form a binding contract.

Third-Party Services

Buzmi relies on third-party telecommunications providers and other vendors to deliver calls, messages, and infrastructure. We are not responsible for outages, delays, routing issues, carrier filtering, building intercom issues, or failures caused by these providers. Service quality may vary based on your building's phone system and local telecommunications infrastructure.

Service Availability

We work to keep Buzmi running reliably. We may occasionally perform maintenance, modify or update the service, or suspend access to protect the service, comply with law, or prevent abuse.

Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Buzmi is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that it will always successfully unlock, route calls, or verify guests.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Buzmi and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service.

We are not responsible for unauthorized access to your building resulting from shared PIN codes, misconfigured settings, auto-unlock use, social engineering, service interruptions, telecom failures, or building intercom issues.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Buzmi in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) $100 CAD.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Buzmi and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your settings or PIN sharing, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

Termination

You can close your account anytime. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, create risk or legal exposure, or to protect the service.

Upon termination, your access ends, your Buzmi number may be released or reassigned, and your data will be deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (liability, indemnity, dispute resolution) will survive.

Dispute Resolution

Start with us: If you have a dispute, email help@buzmi.app and we'll try to resolve it in good faith within 30 days.

Arbitration: Except where prohibited by law, unresolved disputes will be settled by binding arbitration in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, not in court. You waive the right to a trial by judge or jury.

Class action waiver: To the extent permitted by law, disputes will be brought only on an individual basis, not as a class, consolidated, or representative action.

Exceptions: Either party may bring a claim in small claims court (if eligible) or seek injunctive relief for misuse of intellectual property or unauthorized access.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Users in other Canadian provinces or in the United States remain subject to applicable local laws.

General

• Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
• No waiver: If we don't enforce a provision right away, that doesn't waive our right to enforce it later.
• Assignment: You may not assign these terms without our consent. We may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
• Entire agreement: These terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Buzmi.

Changes

We may update these terms. If changes are significant, we'll notify you by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
