Buzmi

Privacy Policy

Last updated: December 31, 2025

Our Promise

We will never sell your data. Ever. We have no intention of monetizing your information. The data we collect exists solely to make Buzmi work for you.

What We Collect (and Why)

We only collect what is necessary for Buzmi to function:

  • Email and name — to create your account and contact you about your service
  • ZIP or postal code — most building intercoms only work with local phone numbers, so we use this to assign you a number local to your building (we don't store your full address)
  • Your Buzmi phone number — this is your dedicated buzzer line
  • Call logs — so you can see who buzzed and when, and so we can operate and troubleshoot the service
  • PIN codes — to verify guests when they buzz
  • Settings — your preferences for how calls are handled
  • Device/browser info — like IP address and browser type when you use the dashboard, for security and to keep the service running

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the service (call routing, PIN verification, call history)
  • Send service-related communications (updates, security notices, billing, support)
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized use
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not use your information for advertising networks or data brokers.

When We Share Your Data

We share personal information only in these situations:

Service providers: We use trusted vendors to help us operate the service, such as telecommunications providers (to deliver calls), hosting providers (to run the service), payment processors (to handle billing), and email providers (for service communications). They process personal information only to provide services to us and are expected to protect it.

Legal and safety: We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, protect the rights and safety of Buzmi, our users, or others, or investigate fraud or abuse.

Business transfers: If we're involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We'll take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected.

Data Retention

  • Call logs: Kept for 14 days, then deleted or de-identified unless we need to keep them longer for security, disputes, or legal compliance.
  • Account information: Retained while your account is active.
  • Deletion: If you delete your account, we take reasonable steps to delete your personal information within a reasonable time, though some may remain in backups for a limited period or as required by law.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we have about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Export your information (where feasible)
  • Delete your account and associated personal information

You can manage many settings in your dashboard. For access, export, or deletion requests, email help@buzmi.app.

Security

Your data is protected with encryption in transit and at rest. Access to your account is secured by your password, and our infrastructure is hosted on trusted, industry-standard platforms.

International Users

We and our service providers may store or process information in Canada, the United States, or other locations. Privacy laws may differ by location, but we take steps to keep your information protected.

Children

Buzmi is not intended for children. If you are not old enough to form a binding contract where you live, you may not use the service.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date. If changes are significant, we'll notify you by email.
